One of our clients, a major oil and gas company, has tasked us with finding a Laboratory Technician to support their operations for a 12-month contract. This role is a site-based position working on a 14/14 rotational schedule. The primary responsibility will be to collect and analyze samples to provide accurate data for operations while adhering to a QA/QC laboratory program to ensure reliable reporting.

This position operates on a 14/14 rotational schedule, with shifts alternating between day and night work.
Responsibilities:
- Support and comply with the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and programs.
- Collect and extract well pad emulsion and gas samples.
- Prepare samples for analysis or shipment.
- Conduct routine tests, including Karl Fischer water analysis, with efficiency and accuracy.
- Communicate sample results effectively and promptly.
- Utilize, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, including Karl Fischer titrators.
- Collect process samples in an operating plant, adhering to all safety precautions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and functional laboratory facility.
- Ensure availability and inventory of laboratory supplies and expendables.
- Collaborate with Operators, Process and Facility Engineers, and Site Management.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have or be willing to obtain H2S Alive certification prior to starting work.
- Ability to perform sampling while wearing a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) when necessary.
- Valid driver's license and comfort driving a truck.
- Willingness to work in a physically demanding role in an outdoor environment approximately 50% of the time.
- Comfortable working at heights, with some sampling locations requiring ladder or elevated platform access.
- Proficient in basic Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to comply with a 14/14 rotational schedule, including day and night shifts.
- This is a safety-sensitive position and requires adherence to the company's Alcohol and Drug policy, including pre-assignment testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in SAGD refinery or process plant operations.
- Power Engineering certification or partial education is considered an asset.
- Laboratory experience, including sample collection and QA/QC program implementation.
