This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of construction management in EPCM projects, and fluency in German. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Leadership: Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards throughout all project phases.
- Project Management: Lead the execution of a large, complex EPCM project, overseeing engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Contract Management: Manage contracts with subcontractors, safeguarding project objectives and maintaining cost controls.
- Advanced Work Packaging: Implement AWP methodologies to optimize processes and enhance cross-functional collaboration.
- Performance Monitoring: Track project progress, ensuring compliance with budget, schedule, and quality targets.
- Change Management: Manage scope changes, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution of change requests.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
- Project Handover: Facilitate a smooth handover by meeting all project deliverables and securing final client acceptance.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 25 years' management experience in the engineering and construction industry.
- Extensive experience managing large EPCM projects, with prior work in Germany preferred.
- Fluent in German and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven expertise in various contracting models and risk mitigation strategies across project phases.
- Hands-on experience with Advanced Work Packaging methodologies and subcontractor management during execution.
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
- Must be eligible to work in Germany without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience managing EPCM projects in Germany.
- Strong HSSE leadership with a proven ability to manage large, complex onshore projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of project scope integration, from construction through commissioning to operational handover.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
