About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled bilingual Lead Subcontracts Manager to join our project team based in Ensenada, Mexico for a 6 - 12-month site assignment and will transition back to the Houston OC office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing claims and addressing ad-hoc contractual issues within the subcontracting department. This role requires excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

About You

As the Lead Subcontracts Manager, you will oversee all subcontracting activities for a large-scale LNG construction project ensuring all subcontracts agreements are executed efficiently, cost-effectively and in compliance with project requirements, company polices and applicable regulations.

• Lead and implement subcontracting strategies that align with project objectives, timelines and budgets.
• Oversee qualifications, negotiation, administration and closeout of subcontracts.
• Ensure subcontractor compliance, performance and address any issues or disputes in a timely and effective manner.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with subcontracts to achieve favorable outcomes while mitigating risks.
• Manage and process subcontractor claims and disputes, ensuring thorough analysis and timely resolution
• Provide guidance and support to project teams on subcontracting matters.
• Handle ad-hoc contractual issues as they arise, providing expert advice and solutions
• Liaise with other departments to obtain inputs, prepare formal correspondence based on the information collected
• Ensure all communication to subcontractors is accurate and up to date.
• Maintain detailed records of all contractual correspondences and claims, ensure all correspondence are responded to within the due dates.
• Coordinate with the legal team as required to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
• Collaborate with the Subcontract Manager to identify and mitigate commercial and contractual potential risks.
• Prepare reports and presentations related to subcontracting activities.

• Ability to speak fluently in both Spanish and English
• Proven experience in subcontract coordination or a similar role, preferably in the construction LNG industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is a significant plus.
• Strong legal acumen and experience with contractual agreements
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• High attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Familiarity with construction project management processes.
• Minimum 15 years' experience in subcontracts on large-scale LNG construction projects
