Your role and responsibilities

In connection with the expansion of our business we are looking for candidates for the position of Team Leader - Local Control Engineering. In this role, you will lead a team of skilled control engineers. You need to align on plans, assign resources to meet the agreed targets. Initiate, coordinate, drive and oversee team development and continuous improvement of processes to strengthen the Engineering capability. You will be mainly accountable for: • Leading the control engineering team in technical and non-technical aspects, coaching and supporting team members to utilize their full potential, introduction of new members to the team • Ensuring continuous resource planning and adequate staffing of projects to deliver high quality results on time • Identifying and driving continuous improvements within the team and the department • Establishing and maintaining close collaboration with other engineering, R&D, Service and production teams locally and globally to drive standardization and improvement of control software engineering process • Executing and/or supporting selected customer projects personally • Support the product management for technical concepts during sales phase as well as preparing adequate cost estimations for Control Engineering Efforts

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor, Master or PhD in electrical or software engineering, preferably with focus on control software
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in an industrial environment covering roles in engineering and/or R&D
• Expertise in power electronic converters or variable frequency drives with knowledge of the railway applications being a significant advantage
• Leadership experience (e.g. team leader, project manager) is an advantage
• Knowledge of CODESYS or other IEC 61131-3 based programing languages
• Knowledge of PLM software is an advantage as is the understanding of software development process under EN 50657 or EN50716 standard
• Readiness for business trips (domestic and foreign)
• Excellent communication skills, both in English and in German
