Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS LLP) is looking for Senior Estimator (Expatriate) with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry to join our Operations business on a 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, based in Atyrau, Kazakhstan.

QUALIFICATIONS
As part of the regional requirements for obtaining work permits, you must hold a relevant Engineering degree qualification. Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer is advantageous but not essential.
What will set you apart will be proven FEED and greenfield gas processing facility experience working in a similar role. Relevant project experience in Kazakhstan is also advantageous but not essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides support on all aspects of cost estimation to the client and project team, ensures compliance with estimating systems, procedures and methods
- Ensures proper documentation of estimates and possibility of their verification, maintenance and issue of estimated data and norms in an organised manner
- Revises estimates when scope of project changes or other new information becomes available
- Coordinates all phase of a project from Identify & Assess, Select, Define, Execute to Start-Up
- Develops TIC estimate protocols and strategy to get approval from clients
- Develops estimates in compliance with Client's policies, procedures, philosophies, and strategies
- Develops documents, and communicating estimates to Project Organization Functional and Delivery teams
- Recording and documenting the work performed to ensure traceability and consistency with critical processes (trend analysis, costs and change control on the project)
- Agrees estimated WBS with the client and ensures these are communicated to all project stakeholders
- Attends cost risk schedule reviews and inputs to contingency for the project
- Manages HS&E aspects on all EPC Contract activities, in conjunction with the Contract Management Team to deliver "Goal Zero" safety performance
- Controls assessment of the effectiveness of working practices, systems and systems interfaces, with a view to continuously improving system, personal and team performance within the Estimating function
- Development, revision and implementation of estimating procedures and processes as needed
- Develops benchmarking framework and database to enable improvement in performance
- Attends kick-off Estimating meetings to get full understanding of the scope of work and estimating requirements
- Makes sure that costs are estimated in accordance with Company instructions and procedures
- Develops documents, and communicates estimates as needed to support project team decision making or in support of project estimate or budget
- Works with Project Organization Functional and Delivery teams to obtain information required to confirm that the value of work performed is aligned with the budget or if not, to quickly identify variations from the budget
QUALIFICATIONS

- At least 10 years of experience in the oil and gas and/or engineering industry
- At least 7 years old in a similar position
- Higher technical education
