The Team - your impact

The Software Engineering Chapter in Technology & Engineering represents all experts who deliver essential software development and engineering capabilities, to all our product teams. These experts are organized together in a Center of Competence, the Chapter, to keep E.ON's code base modern, secure, and excellent.

Our product is located in the Process Automation domain. In this team, we have a passion for automation platforms. We centrally provide and operate the groupwide standard products for capabilities like workflows, process intelligence or robotics. Our mission is to enable E.ON to digitize and automate processes, providing the according tools as a stable basis to build and rely on. Whilst doing this we are constantly improving and innovating our own setup and handling.

Your Role - meaningful & rewarding

As a software engineer in our cross-functional team you will play a vital role in the development and enhancement of the standardization and automation of operational tasks of the RPA (Robotic Process Automation) platform, as well as customer self-services via API and frontend.

  • Contributing to the development of a robust platform based on Blue Prism drawing upon your expertise in frontend development with Django and backend development with Python
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining scripts for automation, troubleshoot and debug software issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implementing effective solutions
  • Participating actively in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Embracing DevOps practices to automate deployment processes, enhance system reliability, and improve overall development efficiency
  • Building development pipelines for GitLab and writing infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible and assisting in our Azure Cloud subscription management


Your Profile - authentic & open-minded
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields or a comparable level of experience
  • Profound and long-term experience in professional software engineering
  • Solid understanding of contemporary software product development and delivery, with significant experience in: Python, and the Django framework in particular, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Cloud Subscription management, Modern tools such as Terraform, GitLab CI/CD and GitOps and DevOps methodologies
  • Fluent in English for clear and effective communication in a global context
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a strong team spirit as well as strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, along with a proactive approach to addressing challenges
