About the Role

Base Location:Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin.

Salary: £40,600 - £61,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Acoustics Analyst to join the Noise and Measurements team within Energy Analytics, primarily supporting our extensive pipeline of offshore wind projects in their development, construction and initial operational phases. You will play a key role in the Energy Analytics team, using your technical expertise in delivering a wide range of analysis and modelling activities towards SSE Renewables pipeline of offshore wind development projects. The role will also involve supporting acoustic analysis across our portfolio of Renewables projects as a whole as required.

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

- Performing noise analysis and modelling on Renewables development projects in line with internal analysis and reporting procedures.

- Identifying risks and ensuring any impacts arising from mitigation measures are understood.

- Commissioning, managing and reviewing noise assessments from independent consultants when required.

- Contributing to inhouse R&D and the development of tools and processes, ensuring effective knowledge sharing within the team, and taking responsibility for quality monitoring of work.

- Effectively communicating complex technical topics in a clear, understandable way to a wide range of stakeholders, representing the team at internal and external meetings.

On occasion, you may need to travel for survey activities and to build and support relations with planning authorities or other stakeholders, therefore, a full and current driving licence will be required.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, you'll need to be experienced in providing analysis and modelling support and you will be excited about working at the cutting edge of wind farm development.

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- A recognised qualification in a relevant discipline and experience in airborne and / or underwater acoustics.

- Knowledge of national and international standards and guidelines relevant to noise from offshore wind energy projects.

- Demonstrable numerical and computer literacy and familiarity with data processing and analysis techniques along with a proactive mindset and problem solving ability.

- Proficiency in noise modelling using bespoke or proprietary software packages. Coding experience with either Matlab or Python would be beneficial.

- Ability to interpret data and convey key information with multi-disciplined project teams and a variety of stakeholders.
