Your contribution to TenneT
Energy System Planning is a future-oriented unit, optimized to react to fast-changing external conditions. We develop a vision for a climate-neutral energy system of the future and how our onshore/offshore electricity system can adapt to these challenges in the smartest way.
In this challenging role you will develop analysis concepts and perform quantitative analyses of TenneT's transmission system in the light of the European energy transition, and perform compliance verification activities.

In this challenging role you will develop analysis concepts and perform quantitative analyses of TenneT's transmission system in the light of the European energy transition, and perform compliance verification activities.
You will contribute to and work on d etermination of the system behaviour of the future, especially with respect to:
- Power system stability due to decreasing inertia and system strength as a result of the phase-out of conventional generation;
- Power electronics integration due to the increase in renewables;
- Power-to-gas, power-to-heat, batteries and other storage systems;
- Development and maintenance of dynamic grid models and tools and methods;
- Studies to identify power system stability issues in the grid;
- Determination of mitigation measures to improve stability based on internal and external analysis;
- Policies related to power system stability and mitigation measures;
- Verification of dynamic models and behaviour for new generator and demand connections;
- Further you will contribute to network development plans and network expansion projects (G0) in the Dutch transmission system and you will participate on behalf of TenneT in national and international working groups and study programs.
Your profile and background
- University degree in Electrical Power Engineering and you have become acquainted with the modelling of electrical networks, especially in the requested field of expertise;
- Able to develop frameworks to estimate them, test these frameworks in discussions with others and then make well-founded statements about future expectations;
- Skilled in handling computer models and have gained experience in using large amounts of data and tooling (e.g. PSS/E, PowerFactory, Matlab, Python);
- Proven knowledge of the transmission system and you have experience in conducting power system studies;
- Proven knowledge and experience in performing power flow and RMS-type calculations;
- You have an open style of communication, actively discuss with your colleagues and know how to convince others with arguments;
- Excellent Dutch and English language skills.
