We are currently looking for a Cost Engineering Advisor Offshore to help us drive forward the energy transition and take on exciting challenges.

Your contribution to TenneT

As a Cost Engineering Advisor Offshore, you are the ambassador and expert in the field of Cost Engineering. You know and develop the internal policy, ensure quality and support in the form of preparing budgets based on project specifications and planning.

Your tasks include:

  • Active participation in tenders: You support the preparation of tender documents right from the start and take care of the financial framework (e.g. Provisional Sums) as well as the price sheet.
  • Keeping an eye on project costs: You ensure that project management can make informed decisions at all times by providing an overview of costs.
  • Cost reports, negotiations and adjustments: You monitor project expenditure and create precise cost reports. If required, you will participate in negotiations around project contracts. You will advise project management on major long-term contracts regarding cost adjustments (e.g. indexation clauses), working closely with contract management and the legal department.
  • Coordination and support of financial work streams: You work hand in hand with our contractors in the framework and provide support with financial tasks.
  • Optimization potential: During projects, you calculate the impact of changes and help to identify optimization opportunities at program level.
  • Offer analyses: You check and validate the incoming offers.
  • Teamwork: You work closely with other Cost Engineers and the project team and support Asset Management (AM) in the further development of our tools (e.g. models, systems, databases).
  • Professionalization: You will contribute your own ideas and help to drive cost engineering forward in our company.

Your profile and background

What you bring to the table:

  • You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in construction, engineering, civil engineering or electrical engineering.
  • At least 8 years of experience in similar activities - preferably in a company with a similar structure to TenneT.
  • Experience with cost management software (e.g. PIN software) is a plus.
  • You have experience in the offshore, electrical or construction industry.
  • Certifications such as CCT or CCE are welcome.
  • You are accurate, results-oriented and have an analytical mind. You are also curious, communicative and understand how projects work.
  • People around you describe you as a helpful team player who easily builds relationships and motivates others through personality.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and can communicate confidently in English.

Large Projects Offshore is a key contributor to the energy transition. The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.

What you can expect:

  • Salary for this position is in grade 8, between € 4.151,- and € 8.196- gross based on a fulltime position according to TenneT TSO CAO (2025)
  • The weekly working time is 40 hours, this position can be fulfilled for 36 hours or more
  • Type of contract is indefinite with a probation time of 2 months
  • 43 vacation days annually
