The Corporate Real Estate (CRE) organization is a centralized department that is responsible for CRE activities worldwide, serving > 40,000 employees.
As competence manager heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) & cleanroom technology you are the functional owner of all heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and cleanroom systems (cleanroom performance and environment).
Role and responsibilities
As competence manager HVAC & cleanroom technology you are responsible to match the HVAC demand with our business goals and targets. Hence you are responsible for a reliable, sustainable and cost-efficient supply. Additionally, you help setting up the right control strategy for the assets within your portfolio with the possibility to extend your knowledge within this field of interest.
This role comprises interfacing with the factory (production & R&D), ASML cleanroom contamination control, our projects and maintenance organizations, consultants, contractors, as well as collaborating with peers in the area of business continuity, reliability improvement, performance improvement and new technology deployment.
You contribute to the development of strategies, standards and policies for assets in you expertise. As a competence manager, you are the owner of our standards. Competence managers also contribute to new innovations and improvements by taking initiatives to study, investigate or pilot existing, new, or emerging technologies and developments with a view to improve performance and/or reduce risks and costs. You will have a leading role to establish global competence knowledge and/or standards to be applied worldwide.

Besides these responsibilities, you will have these responsibilities as well:
- Ensure appropriate supply capacities for assets or systems to meet the demands of the business (in close cooperation with Program Managers and Business Partners). To do so, collect, interpret, and analyze external and internal information and assess the relevance of those for ASML.
- Drive innovation and develop solutions e.g. with relation to energy savings and sustainability, together with other experts in the team and/or with external consultants.
- Define the requirements that are relevant for compliance with regulations, policies and guidelines in the market, as well as the applicable guidelines or policies within ASML, insurance partners or set by CRE (e.g. sustainability performance, maintainability, business continuity etc.).
- Act as third line support in case of incidents and issues in functionality or performance of facility/utility systems.
- Identify and propose projects to upgrade or improve certain aspects of installations or assets in order to meet requirements from the business, changing performance (e.g. sustainability), regulations or changing policies and deliver input for budget.
- Validate/review (concept) designs, PIDs, Program of Requirements, test and validation plans and results for projects and participate in projects by defining user and technical requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Manage and delegate work to engineering consultancy companies and provide them with the correct requirements, statement of work and briefing to execute work.
Education and experience
- Bachelor or master's degree in mechanical engineering, building services, energy technology or similar
- At least 5 years relevant experience.

- You are analytical and strategic, but capable to implement tactical solutions with a team (pragmatic)
- You have excellent (English (C1) and Dutch (B1)) communication skills, both written and verbal. Dealing with medior and senior management levels, peers, teams, service providers, contractors and consultants.
- Stakeholder management - develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and experts.
- You do have excellent decision-making skills in fast-changing and complex environments, and capable of dealing with uncertainties.
- Collaboration, initiative, innovativeness and personal accountability are your personal values.
- Knowledge and experience with cleanrooms are a pre.
- You are flexible, since you do not always have the full impact in your hands.
