Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator

Summary Responsible for the lubrication and maintenance of equipment. Operate the plant waste water treatment system. To minimize downtime and keep the machines producing at a maximum level of efficiency by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Areas of Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Practice safe work habits at all times. Safety lock out / tag out procedures. Comply with all company policies and procedures, and maintain good housekeeping practices.
Oversees operation of plant waste water treatment, sump cleanliness, filter press operation/cleaning, chemical storage and transport. Proper use of hazardous material handling protection; rubber gloves, face shield, aprons.
Ability to disassemble/reassemble diaphragm pumps that pertain to waste water transfer and upkeep of associated plumbing.
Operates Baler and Paper Shredder to include cleaning, changing baling wire, lubrication, and cleaning.
Assists other Mechanics when involved with assigned equipment.
Ensure all work orders are completed entirely and that repairs and work are performed properly. Complete all paperwork neatly, correctly, and in accordance with Company guidelines.
Maximize the utilization of equipment by maintaining the machinery to run at available capacity and speed.
Additional duties as assigned by management.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
