AIM Drafter - Gas Mapping

Job Description
The automated information and mapping drafter is responsible for updating and adding gas, electric and land base features to GTechnology using information provided by engineering and operations personnel. GTechnology is an extensive Geospatial Information System that serves as MidAmerican Energy Company's gas and electric distribution facilities model (map and database). Additional responsibilities include facility placement, database population, specialty map updating and distribution, conflict resolution and material reconciliation.
Responsibilities
Update existing gas, electric and land maps and databases. (75%) Create, maintain and distribute specialty maps. (15%) Conflict resolution. (0-5%) Review database reports. (0-5%) Plot and distribute mapping products. (0-5%) Provide storm restoration support. (0-5%) Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. (0-5%) Demonstration of knowledge and understanding of human performance improvement techniques. Evaluate present practices and implement processes, concepts, training and tools to prevent, detect and correct human errors that may adversely impact the safe, reliable operation of the electric transmission and distribution system.
Qualifications
Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent related work experience. (Typically three years of work experience in a technical field would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess an associate's degree in a technical field.) Two years of related work experience, mapping/GTechnology experience preferred. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. Effective analytical and problem solving skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of computer aided drafting, work management information systems and CSS is preferred but not required.
