Position Summary

We are looking for motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Petroleum Supply Specialists at Fort Wainwright. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receipt, storage, issuance, forecasting, requisitioning, inventorying, analyzing, inspecting, and controlling petroleum products in accordance with Army and other regulations, publications and policies.

Essential Functions of the Position
  • Receipt and Storage: Safely receive, inspect, and store petroleum products in accordance with military and federal regulations. Ensure proper labeling and documentation for traceability and accountability.
  • Issuance and Distribution: Oversee the issuance and distribution of petroleum products, ensuring compliance with regulations and demand forecasts. Maintain accurate records for all issued materials.
  • Inventory Management: Perform regular physical and electronic inventories of petroleum products. Reconcile discrepancies and ensure stock levels align with operational needs.
  • Forecasting and Requisitioning: Analyze usage data to forecast future demand for petroleum products. Prepare requisitions and submit orders to maintain optimal inventory levels and avoid shortages.
  • Inspection and Quality Control: Conduct routine inspections of petroleum products and storage facilities to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. Address any discrepancies promptly and report issues to leadership.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all actions related to the handling and management of petroleum products are compliant with AR 420-1, AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA Pam 710-2, AR 710-4, FM 10-67-1, DOD 4140.25M, and other applicable statutory and regulatory guidance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely records of all petroleum product transactions. Prepare reports on inventory status, requisition needs, and other relevant metrics for senior leadership.
  • Analysis and Process Improvement: Analyze inventory and usage trends to improve processes and reduce waste. Recommend improvements to increase efficiency and ensure cost-effective petroleum product management.

No direct supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands
  • Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment
  • This position may require work in both office and field environments, including exposure to hazardous materials and extreme temperatures. Compliance with all safety protocols is mandatory.
  • Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
  • Noise level can range from minimal to intense.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse or field environment, including standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including, but not limited to cold temperatures and snow.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in petroleum product management or fuel handling operations.
  • Familiarity with military and federal regulations related to petroleum operations, supply, hazardous materials safety (AR 420-1, AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA Pam 710-2, AR 710-4, FM 10-67-1, DOD 4140.25M).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Safety and customer focused
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate vehicles as required.

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required). MOS designation of 92F with experience, or an associate's degree in logistics, supply chain management (preferred).

Security Requirements
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must undergo a background check.
