About the Role:
The purpose of this department is to complete background reports for clients, who are specifically governed by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and Nuclear Regulatory Committee (NRC).
This is an entry-level position. During training, employees are taught about the regulations this department follows - knowledge and understanding of NEI, NRC, and local or federal laws regarding background investigations prior to application and/or acceptance of this role is not expected.
This role engages in computer-based desk work, including but not limited to: taking inbound calls from employers, schools, military facilities, and personal character references of applicants, transferring those calls to employees processing reports, and transposition of data into our system. This role plays an important part in ensuring we provide top-tier service to our clients and their applicants, all while supporting our Nuclear Department team.

Working Schedule:
- This is an in-office, full-time, seasonal position.
- Opportunities for hybrid/remote work are available after completion of the probationary period. Transitions to hybrid/remote work are considered based on demonstrated communication skills, role-based knowledge, and performance.
- Seasonal employment times are approximately January - April and August - October.
- Typical schedule: Monday - Friday; occasional Saturdays
- When determined by company needs, overtime and weekends are available during peak seasons. OT and weekends are assigned based on individual productivity.
- Shift start times vary between 5:00 AM - 8:00 AM, and will vary depending on staffing needs.
Starting Pay
- $17.00-$17.50 / hour
- Inquiries made regarding the potential impact of prior experience on the advancement of title or compensation, after the 90-day probationary period assessments will be conducted to evaluate performance, application of previous experience, and qualifications within this role

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transposition of data from Word and PDF documents, faxes, and emails
- Receive and transfer incoming calls from employers, schools, military facilities and personal character references
- Professional phone etiquette
- Detailed documentation of calls and actions taken on a report
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Preferred experience in areas such as: Data Entry, Customer Service, Call Center, and Administration
- Knowledgeable computer skills including but not limited to: web navigation, basic computer file management, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Minimum typing speed: 50 WPM
- Prompt adaptability to new procedures and policies (e.g., government, industry, company, and client requirements)
- Proficient verbal and written communication
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to maintain focus in dynamic environments
- Competent multitasking capabilities
- Willingness to receive and implement constructive feedback
- Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States
