All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire. As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen. And submit proof of identity and employment eligibility.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Incumbent responsible for multiple programs within the treatment section of the Water Pollution Control Division. Typical duties include: Supervising professional and support staff; resolving personnel problems; establishing and promoting safe work processes and culture; implementing and enforcing division policies, procedures, strategies, and goals; preparing and managing operational and capital improvement budgets; establishing and tracking performance indicators; promoting a cooperative work environment and coordinating efforts with other work groups; representing the section/division with other divisions/departments, organizations, agencies, and the general public. Applicant must have demonstrated expertise in wastewater treatment process associated with equipment and facilities, preferably directly related to pumping and treatment of wastewater.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 5 years of increasingly responsible related program experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Experience with demonstrated leadership skills; knowledge of asset management concepts and approaches; demonstrated understanding of biological wastewater treatment activities with granular activated sludge preferred. Valid Kansas Driver's License Required.
Salary Range:
$31.99-$43.67/hr.
