Posting Summary

Perform highly skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of building heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and controls. Perform highly skilled work in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration equipment to include, chillers, freezers, refrigerators, coolers, etc. Confer with supervisor/s regarding all aspects of assigned duties and communicate with University campus partners all aspects of requests. Access information utilizing computers. Promote a work place culture that encourages safety within the shop and in the field. Operate a University vehicle to transport materials, tools, and equipment. May be required to operate an aerial lift.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

High School diploma, Vermont Type S C3 License and Vermont Natural Gas Installer Certification or ability to acquire within six months and three years' experience in HVAC equipment and controls installation, maintenance and repair required. Refrigerant Recovery Certification required. Experience using computers and mobile technology required. Valid driver's license or ability to obtain and driver's check required. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions. Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE ) when performing specific job functions. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of background check and physical screening.

Anticipated Pay Range

$33/hr - $36.50/hr

Bargaining Unit Position - United Electrical Workers, A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, 40 hour work week, This position is ineligible for telework due to the essential functions, Background Check required for this position, A post-offer pre-employment (POPE test) physical examination is required
