IS Program Management Office Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the organization's vision and strategic direction. Each day, you will define, manage, and monitor processes to meet requirements for Information Systems (IS) services by planning, measuring, and improving all aspects of IS services. You will also showcase your expertise by being a key resource, a definitive source of knowledge processes, to contribute to enhancing organizational effectiveness. The work model for the role is Hybrid in Cary, NC. You will be mainly accountable for: Alignment and Collaboration: Develop and maintain strong partnerships within and beyond the ELIP IS organization. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among ELIP IS resources, project teams, support organizations and ELIP IS leadership Process and Tool Transformation: Focus on driving organizational consistency and transforming capabilities, processes, and tools. Enhance efficiency and productivity, improve decision-making, increase agility, and augment risk management Training and Adoption: Develop, socialize, and deliver training on Portfolio Services policies, procedures, standards, and governance. Promote organizational adoption of and adherence to these standards Performance Tracking: Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs to monitor organizational performance and support data-driven decision-making. Ensure accuracy and quality in Portfolio Services data and reporting Roadmap Management: Partner with the Portfolio Services Manager to formalize and maintain the ELIP IS Portfolio Services Roadmap, outlining key initiatives, timelines, and resource requirements in alignment with the Organizational Maturity Transformation strategy Portfolio Planning: Partner with the Portfolio Services Manager to take ownership of the annual Portfolio Planning Process, including defining the annual cycle timeline, identifying/managing dependencies and prerequisite tasks, managing tools, reports/dashboards, cadence, governance, and training Lifecycle Delivery: Manage the full lifecycle delivery of select Portfolio Services Roadmap initiatives, including the implementation of processes, tools, reports, dashboards, cadence, governance structures, and organizational communications and training Execution Oversight: Oversee the execution of select Portfolio Services initiatives, ensuring they meet scope, timeline, and budget requirements. Monitor and report on progress, addressing any deviations from the plan Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in current practices, processes, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Provide ongoing support for existing Portfolio Services solutions to ensure they continue to meet organizational needs and deliver value Merger and Acquisition Support: Engage in Merger and Acquisition project activities as needed, contributing to contract & license, integration and alignment efforts Leadership and Coaching: As designated, provide guidance, support, and delegation to Portfolio Services' contractors, interns and junior team members. Set the example for proactive relationship building within the ELIP IS team and act as an escalation point for resolving issues Provides Portfolio Services manager and/or CIO accurate, timely status updates on the Portfolio Services Roadmap as well individual assignments Provides leadership, guidance, or support to junior resources and/or contractors, through advising and monitoring task completion Manages relationships with stakeholders in their area of ownership to define solutions and ensure alignment. Ensures that all stakeholders adhere to policies, procedures and timetables through effective communication of information to achieve understanding and support Engages with peers across ELIP IS and Finance to increase operational understanding and acquire the necessary foundation for effective execution of assignments Continuously expands awareness and competence as applicable within ABB IS Other duties as assigned

Qualifications for the role

  • University degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or related field
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • Proven experience working in the Office of the CIO, portfolio services management, strategic planning, and/or organizational transformation
  • Strong ability to build partnerships, facilitate communication, and manage stakeholder relationships
  • Expertise in developing and maintaining performance tracking tools, reports, and dashboards that controlled critical functions
  • Proficiency in creating and implementing process documentation, training programs, governance structures and organizational roadmaps
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and present complex information in a simple, clear manner
  • Proven ability to manage projects effectively, ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, and budget
  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency
  • Skilled in working with diverse teams, demonstrating a collaborative & team-oriented approach
  • Proficient in evaluating information to inform decisions & drive results
  • Highly attentive to details, ensuring accuracy & thoroughness in all tasks
  • Capable of handing complex assignments with minimal guidance, demonstrating self-sufficiency & initiative
  • Leadership & coaching skills with the ability to manage and support team members effectively
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and SharePoint
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
