Responsible for the accurate and timely maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of assigned HVAC installation project(s) to meet clients' requirements; supervising and coordinating the activities of technical field staff and resolving problems and issues as they arise. Ensures work on a job is performed in a profitable and safe manner while meeting company quality and service goals.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Supervises technical field staff engaged in the set up, maintenance and integrity of HVAC operations and equipment, coaching and training subordinates in the areas of job skills improvement, better methods, and techniques in order to continually improve their level of productivity and work quality.
  2. Determines work procedures, sets priorities, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow after reviewing the scope of each new project with the job estimator prior to starting.
  3. Establishes and maintains procedures for team to organize workflow, monitoring and measuring daily job status to determine if the job is on schedule, and administering, enforcing, and coordinating project contract provisions and specifications consis-tent with direction provided by Capstone.
  4. Analyzes and develops solutions for problems arising at the client site and notifies the Project Manager immediately of any problem of a serious nature, such as an accident resulting in personal injury, serious damage to company or client's property, etc.
  5. Ensures field operations are completed as required and the accuracy and completion of all job reporting requirements, including work orders, time sheets, change orders, back charges, special client's requests, and all operation related information.
  6. Recognizes when change orders, back charges or additional work orders will be deemed necessary and appropriate, and ensures proper paperwork is completed and signed by client's authorized representative.
  7. Responds to clients' needs and questions in areas of responsibility and ensures work is performed in accordance with standards, guidelines, and processes.
  8. Ensures all contractual and regulatory requirements required for the job such as OSHA, permits, insurance coverage, etc., are in force, and compliance with OSHA, EPA and company job safety programs and policies.
  9. Establishes and maintains security procedures to protect the company's assets at job sites and attends any safety meetings held by the General Contractor, filling out accident reports and reporting each accident to the S.V.P. of Project Operations and Human Resources Manager when necessary and helping resolve any damage claims which may arise between owners, subcontractors, insurance companies, and the like
  10. Ensures all company vehicles, tools, and equipment, whether assigned an individual employee or to the job, are maintained in good working order while on the job site, and all company and rental equipment is promptly returned, in good condition, from an assigned job when no longer needed.
  11. Maintains comprehensive project plans and provides clients and management with job status information and provides "as built drawings" as part of the close out package.
  12. Monitors lead times for any special material or subcontractor requirements and ensures all are available at the appropriate time.
  13. Verifies with personnel working at the job site that equipment and/or materials delivered match specifications and are in good condition and the right quantity.
  14. Confirms with billing personnel that invoices submitted by assigned sub-contractors are accurate and work quality meets company standards.
  15. Notifies the Vice President whenever an OSHA inspector visits a job site for inspection.
  16. Represents Capstone's Mission, Vision, and Values in company's marketplace and for maintaining the ethical standards and goodwill of Capstone Mechanical as it pertains to assigned projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Certification/Licensure:

State Driver's License and insurable driving record

Experience Requirements:

5 years supervisory experience in the Plumbing/HVAC industry, supervising multiple projects.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Basic Microsoft Office applications knowledge: ability to work on multiple sets of tasks simultaneously, planning and coordinating multiple activities with exacting deadlines; working knowledge, understanding and ability to comply with all Federal, State, Local, and Company regulations, policies, guidelines, and procedures, including use of tools. Intermediate communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; advanced organizational ability and planning skills; self-starter; intermediate installation practices, quality standards and safety procedures and guidelines understanding. Intermediate understanding and use of established safety practices; intermediate ability to read and interpret client documentation, specifications, prints and drawings; advanced ability to perform a series of procedural steps, and detect and resolve errors; advanced knowledge of use of tools and equipment; advanced ability to perform power verification on installed and/or existing HVAC equipment, and functional testing on multiple client products.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises Mechanics, Technicians, Helpers, and sub-contractors assigned to project.

Working Conditions:

The noise level in the primary work environment is generally high and lighting may be poor. Required to work in non-air-conditioned spaces, on roofs, on ladders, and with vertical lifting equipment. On occasion required to work in warehouse/plant environment or industrial environment and out of doors, includes but not limited to working near moving mechanical parts and/or rotating equipment, and loud noise or vibrations. At times may be exposed to risk of electrical shock. Subject to all temperatures including outdoor weather conditions.
