NUCLEAR SECURITY RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSOCIATE 2, Security Studies Program (SSP) - Center for Nuclear Security Policy (CNSP) , to provide research assistance and support projects for associated faculty, researchers, and fellows under the direction of the CNSP director. Will perform research, collect, organize, and analyze data; coordinate multiple research-related projects; summarize and document findings; proof-read research papers and articles; assist with fact-checking, editing, formatting, and other support for faculty, researchers and fellows working on nuclear security topics; work on issues of nuclear deterrence, nuclear proliferation and nonproliferation, decision making, nuclear history, and other areas of nuclear security; and gain research experience in political science with an interest in nuclear security before pursuing graduate education.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously; solid organizational, project management, analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and written and verbal communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; technical proficiency with MS Office/Outlook and willingness to learn new programs and software as needed; ability to work both independently and as part of a team; high degree of motivation; excellent interpersonal skills, especially when working with visitors; and ability to deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion. PREFERRED : Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Relations, History, Engineering or a related field or a minimum of three years of relevant experience and a keen interest in nuclear security. This role is on a hybrid schedule with three days/week in the office. Some occasional evening and/or weekend work will be required.

There are two one-year positions, starting September 1, 2025, with the possibility of an extension for a second year.

Salary range: $25 - $28/hour based on experience and internal equity.
