Wood is currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager with extensive experience in a Greenfields EPC/EPCM environments to be based in our Melbourne office.
You will need to have a proven capability of successfully delivering large projects, coordinating large multidisciplinary teams and providing technical assurance in delivery.
Candidates with Upstream Oil & Gas and gas transport pipelines, would be advantageous.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in delivery of technical assurance
- Assist in Management performance of direct reports
- Assist in ensuring competence of engineering team
- Manages succession planning and delivery on behalf of the contract
- Assist in setting & maintaining standards for the development and retention of motivated and competent people
- Assist in the management of recruitment, selection, transfers and promotion of resources to meet Engineering team requirements
- Continuous promotion of corporate / client specific procedures
- Assist in incident investigations as required
- Represent Wood disciplines
- Assist in setting performance expectations for direct reports
- Actively maintain own competence and continuous development
- Assist in Identifying & Requesting functional support to the project/contract as required
- Roll out & Implementation of learning opportunities from across the business
- Conduit for regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments
- Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to respective team
- Executing assigned business objectives
- Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities
- Manage and direct resources efficiently and effectively
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with a degree qualification in relevant subject
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent with recognized professional body
- Experience working across all engineering phases from concept to execute
- Demonstrable balance of industrial and management experience at relevant level and position
- Capable of representing Wood and Client to business associates in a professional manner
- Professional demeanour
- Able to keep discipline & resolve conflict
- Able to demonstrate team building skills and capable of influencing people at all levels of the organisation
- Enthusiastic, conscientious and keen to learn
- Flexible with a can-do attitude
