The Junior Construction Manager assists in overseeing construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This position will work closely with the construction manager to help lead and manage projects and construction technicians.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Senior Construction Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects.
  • Help monitor project timelines, ensuring milestones are met.
  • Maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting necessary permits and applications.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Support the management of subcontractors and vendors on-site.
  • Act as a point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Facilitate communication between team members to ensure project alignment.
  • Help track project budgets and expenditures, assisting in cost reporting.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and report them to the Construction Manager.
  • Assist in enforcing safety standards and protocols on-site.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Identify issues that arise during the construction process and propose solutions.
  • Assist in the resolution of conflicts or discrepancies on-site.

Skills, Education, and Competencies
  • 5+ years of construction experience.
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • EPA Certification
  • Knowledge of the refrigeration cycle.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

The physical demands and work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the job's essential functions. While performing the duties of this job.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, crawl, climb, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and lift/push/pull up to 75lbs.
  • The employee is frequently required to communicate by telephone, read regular and small print, and view and prepare documents.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
  • The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to loud due to machinery and other factors on the jobsite.
  • Due to the nature of the commercial refrigeration and construction projects, there may be some exposure to chemical and hazardous materials.
