This position reports to

Director of Research & Development

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support engineering activities in all types of project sizes and complexities, under the supervision of senior engineers. Each day, you will complete the tasks cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. You will also showcase your expertise by collecting data and supporting production of the engineering design. The work model for the role is: Onsite #LI-Onsite You will be mainly accountable for: • Acts as an independent and reliable contributor with limited supervision. Participates in technology development and product development projects, and support of existing products. • Creates electrical designs for industrial motors per internal specifications and industry standards from fractional through integral horsepower range. Maintains a special emphasis on AC induction motor design methodology, modeling techniques, and test standards. • Stays abreast of the state-of-the-art designs in the electrical engineering area, as well as new and evolving technologies. Leverages expertise in motor design to contribute innovative and creative ideas. • Collaborates with Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain on development of product specifications, application assistance, regulatory or certification requirements and processes.

Qualifications for the role

  • Engineering Degree or Degree awarded by June 2025 with 0-2 years experience.
  • Preferred Previous Experience Includes:
  • Technical Support for projects in an electrical engineering field
  • Supporting manufacturing locations
  • Computer programming experience
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
