Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Sales Director to help lead our utility-scale efforts. This individual will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by developing and executing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have deep industry knowledge, a proven track record in solar or renewable energy sales, and exceptional leadership skills.
Ideal candidates must be willing to travel roughly 25% of the time for client meetings, company off-sites, conferences, and other potential events.

Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets for utility-scale solar projects.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities, leveraging industry trends and insights.
- Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, finance, and project development) to deliver competitive proposals.
- Client Relationships and Business Development:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including utilities, developers, EPCs, and financiers.
- Lead negotiations for large-scale power purchase agreements (PPAs), offtake agreements, and project sales.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings.
- Leadership and Team Development:
- Collaborate with a high-performing sales team, fostering a results-driven and team culture.
- Market Intelligence and Reporting:
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and policy developments affecting utility-scale solar.
- Deliver accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and key performance metrics to executive leadership.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the project development and engineering teams to align sales goals with project timelines and technical capabilities.
- Collaborate with the finance team to structure competitive and profitable deals.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years of sales or business development experience in the renewable energy sector, with at least 5 years focused on utility-scale solar.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Skills:
- Proven ability to close large-scale, complex deals.
- Strong understanding of utility-scale solar technologies, project financing, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and support project development efforts, company off-sites, conferences, and other potential events.
