JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and supervise the execution of all work request related to blasting and painting activities for fabrication of Rigs and related equipment/accessories.
  • Supervise the job on day-to-day basis and report progress, as per the delivery schedules, as per the contract.
  • Prepare and monitor the quality plan, project paint specifications and the method statements and ensure strict implementation of quality standards as per the set parameters.
  • Responsible for monitoring all parameters during blasting and painting.
  • Optimize use of manpower for higher productivity.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant blasting and painting skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the section objectives.
  • Ensure availability of proper equipment, materials and consumables for all the activities and follow approved methods of statements.
  • Responsible of hiring of qualified personnel for blast and paint operations.
  • Responsible for trainings and performance evaluation for direct reports.
  • Recommends and initiates improvements to production processes, to increase manufacturing efficiency.
  • Monitors and controls established procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Establishes and monitors cost control systems to achieve department budget objectives. Reduce waste.
  • Develop and implement appropriate techniques to ensure accuracy, productivity and level of product standards are met.
  • Ensure manhours are accurately captured on respective jobs using Kronos/Oracle.
  • Knowledge of HSE procedures & practices and comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards and best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Experience Required:

  • Shall have sound technical knowledge in paint and blast materials, testing methods and general construction activities. Shall have experience of working to and fully familiar with international codes and standards such as from NACE etc used in oil and gas industries.
  • Experience in managing blasters and painters for heavy structures, piping, pressure vessels and other equipment.
  • Having good knowledge of blasting and painting processes and principles (.
  • Expertise knowledge in tools required for blasting & painting.
  • Excellent communications and inter-personal/leadership skills are essential.
  • Proven track record of result deliveries in challenging project environments


Education/Qualifications:

  • 12 years' experience in managing blasting and painting operations of heavy structures and equipment.
  • NACE or similar certification is required.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in supervisory role in blast & paint shop environment.
  • Computer literate with experience using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) & Kronos/Oracle or equivalent ERP.
  • Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical or related engineering from reputed university preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability to supervise diverse work groups in a team environment using effective listening, coaching, training, investigative and problem-solving skills.
