Sales Support Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will support the assigned Sales organization and customers during the proposal process, serving as a key technical resource. You will be responsible for 50% of the LBU sales support activities, including studies, tendering, and proposals. You will collaborate with Front-End Sales (FES) teams to ensure successful project outcomes, provide technical descriptions of products and technologies, and determine costs. Additionally, you will assess customer needs, evaluate vendors, and define solutions that align with customer expectations while ensuring technical accuracy. The work model for the role is: #onsite #onsite-Li This role is contributing to the Sales Support Manager in New Cairo, Egypt. Main stakeholders are the Sales team, Front-End Sales (FES) personnel, internal ABB Business Units (LBUs), external customers (end users across various process industries such as Cement, Metal, Food & Beverage), and vendors/suppliers. You will be mainly accountable for: • Offering technical advice and solutions on inquiries from customers, channels, and Sales Specialists regarding ABB products, systems, and applications • Performing analytic and diagnostic studies to determine the optimal technical solution based on customer needs and addressing complex inquiries • Developing and maintaining new sales opportunities and resolving customer problems to ensure achievement of targets on orders, Net Price Variance (NPV), and Net Promoter Score (NPS) • Supporting 50% of the LBU sales support activities, including studies, tendering, and proposals • Taking responsibility for studies and proposals (FID and Analytics) within assigned market segments • Supporting Front-End Sales personnel in achieving LBU Order (OR) commitments, and actively engaging in FES activities across Process industries such as cement, metal, and pulp & paper • Defining the most suitable technology and product types based on application characteristics, aligning with bid commercial needs and requested quality metrics • Ensuring the preparation of technical and financial aspects of offers, including pricing, cost determination, and trading conditions • Analyzing customer needs, competitor offers, and market trends to inform proposal strategies • Collaborating with internal teams and vendors to evaluate supplier offers and ensure technical alignment, while supporting other ABB LBUs in complete package solutions You will join a dynamic, talented, high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

  • You are highly skilled in using tools and methodologies such as industrial applications, control systems (800xa, Freelance, AC500), communication protocols, and process analytics within the automation and control systems market
  • You have 1-3 years of experience in industrial applications, control systems, field instrumentation, flow measurements, and SCADA systems
  • You are highly adept in MS Office, Oracle, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • You are passionate about problem-solving with technical accuracy, time management, and working autonomously using templates and special tools
  • Degree in Engineering (Bachelor's degree, 5 years), with knowledge in automation, control systems, and process control
  • You are at ease communicating in English and Arabic (French is a plus)
  • You demonstrate your ability to solve problems by ensuring timely quote submissions and handling emergency/urgent cases in fast-track processes
  • You plan ahead with medium-term plans (1-3 months) and short-term plans (1 week - 1 month)
  • You thrive in a team-oriented environment, utilizing communication skills, innovation, and action-oriented mindset to achieve success
