· Organise and manage all aspects of the workload of a team of piping discipline engineers and designers, within the parameters of a project schedule.
· Establish a list of discipline deliverables. Control, monitor and progress these deliverables to an agreed schedule.
· Organise and manage the resource requirements for the piping discipline.
· Ensure recognised offshore engineering practices applicable to piping design and topside/plant layout are adopted.
· Exercise guidance to staff in the preparation of piping materials and valve specifications and subsequently ensure purchase to required standards.
· Apply good interpersonal skills, liaising across the organisation with members of other disciplines and departments.
· Create an awareness and willingness to work in “break through” and partnering environment.
· Appraisal, training and development of personnel.
· Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.
· Safety – Responsible for personal safety and working within the OHS&W procedures.
· Extensive current design experience is required in piping engineering, piping stress, pipe supports, topsides equipment layouts and detailed piping design, all gained with notable design contractors and/or oil/gas companies within the petrochemical industry particularly with respect to offshore oil and gas installations.
· Sufficient knowledge of piping materials to guide staff in the preparation of piping and valve specifications and subsequently ensure purchase to required standards.
· Relevant experience of the associated engineering disciplines of Metallurgy, Mechanical, Structural, and Process systems would be a distinct advantage.
· Industrial Relations – Conversant with industrial relations as they impact on the partnering contract.
· Degree in Engineering.
· Minimum of 10-12 years piping engineering experience in oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
