Position Summary

The Drilling Operations Manager is responsible for managing daily drilling and engineering operations specifically related to planning and execution of drilling projects and development of field.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that all drilling activities are executed according to the established plans, schedules, and safety protocols. Monitor rig performance, manage resources, and make operational decisions to optimize efficiency and productivity.

• Work in conjunction with geology and completions to deliver wells that are of sound construction and stay within target window selected by geology group.

• Ensure that wellbore construction will allow completions group to successfully stimulate formation for optimum performance and deliver results that are in line with reservoir and production team.

• Direct, lead and support engineers, superintendents, and other staff on location to ensure accuracy in reports prior to submission.

• Oversee design, torque and drag calculations, mud reports, and vendor performance tracking.

• Analyze data, identify areas for improvement, and implement measures to enhance rig performance.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, industry, safety and environmental requirements.

• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • 15 years industry experience preferred
  • 5 years' experience in management and leading people preferred
  • B.S. in Petroleum/Mechanical/Chemical/Civil is required.
  • Proven ability to manage a multi-rig program and drive efficiency in the drilling operations.
  • Must have examples of leading safety programs and coordinating with regulatory departments
  • Data analytic skills that drive forward decisions and benchmark performance are required.
  • Well control certification required.
  • Haynesville and managed pressure drilling experience preferred.
  • Beneficial to have exposure to cross discipline operations experience.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• The Drilling Operations Manager position is classified as light physical work in an office setting involving sitting, with intermittent periods of stooping, walking and standing.

• Occasionally may be required to lift, carry, push or pull 10-25 pounds.
