The Technical Manager will lead innovation and technological advancements in whipstock, fishing tools, plug and abandonment, jars, and other oilfield rental tools. A key focus of this role will be driving the development and approval of new tools and technologies for Aramco, ensuring alignment with their standards and operational requirements. The position emphasizes technical leadership, innovation, and strategic collaboration with both internal teams and clients.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the approval process for new tools and technologies with Aramco, ensuring all designs meet their technical and operational standards.
• Build strong relationships with Aramco representatives to facilitate the evaluation and qualification process.
• Prepare and present technical documentation, certifications, and performance data required for tool approvals.
• Address feedback from Aramco during the approval process and implement required modifications effectively.
• Drive the design and development of advanced technologies for whipstock, fishing tools, plug and abandonment, jars, and other rental tools.
• Identify and integrate cutting-edge technologies to meet the evolving needs of the oilfield service industry.
• Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to enhance tool performance and reliability.
• Provide guidance and expertise in the application and development of oilfield tools and technologies.
• Mentor teams on design and operational requirements specific to Aramco and other major clients.
• Lead technical reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and client-specific guidelines.
• Partner with sales and operations teams to align technology development with client requirements, particularly Aramco.
• Conduct technical presentations and training sessions for clients and internal teams.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison for Aramco and other key stakeholders.
• Oversee rigorous testing and validation protocols for tools to ensure safety, reliability, and performance under Aramco's operational conditions.
• Analyse feedback and field data to refine designs and improve tool performance.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
Skills & Competencies:
• In-depth knowledge of whipstock, fishing tools, plug and abandonment, jars, and related oilfield technologies.
• Expertise in Aramco's tool qualification and approval processes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging with high-profile clients.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster collaboration.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in oilfield tool development, with specific experience working with Aramco or similar clients.
• Demonstrated success in getting tools approved for major operators like Aramco.
