Your role and responsibilities

In this role as Global Product Manager Safety PLC, you will shape the strategic direction and drive the long-term growth of our machinery safety automation portfolio across its entire lifecycle. Collaborating with partners, suppliers, and industrial consortiums, you will play a pivotal role in building a robust ecosystem. Positioned at the intersection of R&D, Sales, Marketing, and product management, you will champion innovation and contribute to strengthening our position in delivering reliable and forward-thinking safety automation solutions. The work model for the role is: Hybrid This role is contributing to the Motion Business Area in Heidelberg. You will be mainly accountable for: • Leading the market intelligence analysis and identifying potential gaps in the portfolio, with respect to the competition and new market opportunities, while collaborating with partners, suppliers, and industrial consortiums to enable a solid ecosystem. • Owning technical and market specifications for the offer and determining an offering business plan that supports sustainable growth while leading customer need and value analysis, planning the roadmap to create maximum value, and following-up on portfolio performance by driving cross-functional alignment with R&D, Sales, Marketing, and product management. • Leading the offer lifecycle management process, analyzing current offers, defining and tracking performance metrics, and making decisions on offer obsolescence and end-of-life to ensure that current and future market requirements are met to maximize their profitability. • Setting targets, monitoring offering costs, and giving inputs to operations functions (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Production) to maximize competitiveness and profitability, while closely collaborating with key countries to ensure effective interaction with front-end sales, partners, and strategic customers.

Qualifications for the role

• You are immersed in working with functional safety and have a solid technical background and market experience (minimum of 2 years), preferably within the Industrial Automation space.
• You can demonstrate your experience in functional safety management systems, requirements definition and tracking, and machinery safety. Understanding process safety is a plus.
• You are highly adept in standards like IEC 61508, IEC 62061, and ISO 13849, with knowledge of functional safety communication protocols such as PROFIsafe or similar.
• You are passionate about strategic and analytical thinking, determination, and persistence, and you demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Degree in or extensive knowledge of industrial automation systems, including PLCs and Drives, with a proven track record of collaboration across departments, including Sales, Marketing, and R&D units.
• You are at ease communicating fluently in English; German language skills are an additional asset.
• You hold the flexibility to travel up to 25%.
