Duties & Responsibilities:

1.Day-to-day activity on project execution (65%)
• Perform and lead highly complex system studies including but not limited to protective device coordination and the following explorations: short circuit, arc flash, load flows, ampacity, grounding, harmonic, and power quality
• Lead the design of collection systems, including cable routing and cable sizing
• Create and supervise the creation of reports and presentations describing studies performed, solutions developed, and value obtained
• Independently prepare interconnection application packages and set up load flow and dynamic models
• Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance
• Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices
• Independently evaluate, select, and adapt procedures and criteria
• Develop new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products
• Review and finalize scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
• Plan, schedule, or coordinate the preparation of documents or activities for multiple major projects
• Receive a review of completed work for application of sound professional judgment
• Perform essential duties, including meeting deliverables and deadlines

2.Interconnection Package Development & related activities (5%)
• Prepare and manage the preparation of drawings of grid interconnection and collection system for interconnection applications

3.Creating equipment specifications & Bid / RFP support (5%)
• Create equipment specifications for and apply deep knowledge of renewable energy systems, including PV solar modules, inverters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), transformers, cable management systems, and balance-of-system (BOS)
• Prepare proposals to provide professional services for engineering projects or portfolios

4.Client management (5%)
• Oversee projects in a portfolio or a suite of projects
• Support client interaction for multiple projects in multiple portfolios
• Act as main point of contact for discipline or project team on portfolios

5.Managing & Mentorship (10%)
• Supervise, provide training for, and mentor assigned staff engineers
• Lead all staff necessary to complete assignments

6.Assist Principal with non-typical requests and other duties as assigned (10%)
• Advise upper-level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor
• Collaborate on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Equivalent of: 1) U.S. Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field, or 2) Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field plus five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience.
• EIT Certificate
• Technical skills required: Advanced knowledge of Python, ETAP, CDEGS, CYMCAP, PSS/E, and PSLF
• 2 years of experience as a solar PV systems or energy storage electrical engineer
• 2 years of experience working with different vendor provided dynamic models
• 2 years of experience applying Python or similar programming languages for process automation
