If you share our determination to drive the transition to a low-carbon future, then this could be the job for you. We are currently seeking a Completion Lead, reporting directly to Completion Manager to join our team based in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.

About the Job

Your main missions and responsibilities will be to: Lead supports the coordination and management all aspects of completion and handover to achieve client acceptance. This role oversees the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up processes, ensuring that all project components meet the required standards while effectively managing punch list items and utilizing completion management software for a seamless transition to operational readiness.

Main accountabilities:
  • Support the Completion Manager with additional tasks as required, contributing to the overall success of the completion and handover process.
  • Assist the Completion Manager in ensuring that all project stakeholders adhere to the completion philosophy.
  • Monitor the completion process to ensure that all activities are executed and documented in the correct sequence and according to the project schedule.
  • Conduct completion meetings with sub-contractors to discuss progress, priorities for testing, and punch list clearance.
  • Participate in completion sub-system walkdowns.
  • Support the compilation of Mechanical Completion (MC) and Ready for Start-Up (RFSU) dossiers
  • Ensure the readiness and accuracy of the completion database in coordination with the EASYPLANT coordinator, relevant disciplines, and project teams
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the completion and handover phases, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Knowledge in:
  • Completion Philosophy: In-depth knowledge of pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up processes and methodologies. Familiarity with commissioning subsystems, mechanical completion, and readiness for start-up is essential.
  • Punch Process: Should possess a thorough understanding of the punch process, including the identification, tracking, and resolution of punch list items
  • Completion Software: Expertise in completion management software and database systems for monitoring project progress. Experience with EasyPlant Software is preferred, but familiarity with other tools such as ICAPS, TOSTR, or Zenator would be advantageous.
  • Technical Documentation: Proficiency in preparing and reviewing technical documentation, including reports and compliance records.
  • Technical Documentation Understanding: Should have a solid grasp of all main project disciplines, including piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and telecom, to effectively interpret various types of technical documentation, such as Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Cause and Effect (C&E) diagrams, and loop drawings.
  • Computer Proficiency: Should possess strong computer skills, with mandatory proficiency in Microsoft tools, particularly Excel and Word. Advanced Excel skills are essential for data analysis and reporting.
  • Risk Assessment: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks during the completion and handover phases.

Qualification: Technical or Bachelor Degree

Experience: 10 years in position for EPC project for Oil & Gas Industry

  • Negotiation Skills: Proficient in conducting negotiations related to punch list closure, mechanical completion (MC), and readiness for start-up (RFSU) certificate signatures.
  • Organizational Skills: Well-organized and structured, with a systematic approach to work, ensuring adherence to established rules and procedures.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to changing project requirements and environments, demonstrating resilience in the face of challenges.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and thoroughness, ensuring that all aspects of the project are completed to high standards and that no critical details are overlooked.
