Job Title: Construction Manager - VA Hospital Mechanical & Electrical Infrastructure

Location: Queens, NY

Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential extension to 8 months or more)

Bill Rate: $70 - $115 per hour - around $50 - $70 pay rate

Start Date: ASAP (February 17, 2025) - if someone interviews and is right fit, will bring on right away

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Construction Manager with experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) infrastructure projects for a VA hospital - meaning healthcare infrastructure background. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large-scale, complex construction projects within healthcare or hospital environments. This position will oversee all MEP-related work, ensuring that project goals, timelines, and budgets are met efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

- Project Management: Lead mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) infrastructure work for a VA hospital, overseeing all aspects of construction management.

- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, facilities staff, and subcontractors, to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth project execution.

- Utility Shutdowns: Schedule and manage major utility shutdowns in collaboration with the facilities team, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations.

- Software Proficiency: Utilize Procore project management software for tracking progress, reporting, and documentation.

- Oversight and Coordination: Manage and coordinate multiple subcontractors on-site (2-5), ensuring work is completed according to project specifications and timelines.

- Task Management: Create and maintain organized action registries, punch lists, and to-do lists to ensure all tasks are addressed and completed on time.

- Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including OSHA standards (OSHA 30/10 certification preferred).

- Communication: Maintain clear, consistent communication with all stakeholders, including senior leadership, engineering teams, and external contractors.

Qualifications:

- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a Construction Manager role, with experience at all levels including labor, superintendent, and foreman roles. Healthcare or hospital experience is strongly preferred.

- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing project management in construction.

- Project Management Skills: Expertise in handling MEP scope of work and managing complex infrastructure projects in large facilities.

- Software Skills: Proficiency with Procore project management software.

- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to coordinate and manage teams.

- Time Management: Highly proficient in accountability, time management, and task prioritization.

- Certifications: OSHA 30 and OSHA 10 certifications

- Location: Preference for candidates based in or near the Queens, NY area.

- Initial Interview: Conducted by Frank (first round)

- Follow-Up Interview: With Andre, and final interview with Kevin

- Availability for Interviews First Round:

- Thursday, January 23rd: Available between 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and after 2:00 PM

- Friday, January 24th: Available after 11:00 AM
