Job Title: Environmental Project Manager
Job Description: Performs several duties pertaining to fuel systems integrity testing. Primarily completes petroleum support work orders and jobs at retail, commercial and private fueling facilities. Shares results of testing and correction procedures with company partners and customers with speed and accuracy. Provides unbiased, fact-based results and correction advice on site to provide outstanding customer service.
What You'll Do:
• 60%: Containment Testing; Performs a variety of fuel containment tests, equipment integrity tests, and leak-detection tests in order to detect leaks or to prevent future leaks due to non-compliance or equipment failure. Ensures all Seneca employees follow site and customer policies and procedures.
• 20%: Site Inspection: Conducts inspections of equipment and sites referring to regulations, policies and customer requirements. Shares results of testing and correction procedures with company partners and customers with speed and accuracy. Provides unbiased, fact-based results and correction advice on site to provide outstanding customer service.
• 10%: Training and field supervision: Provides direction, coaching and training to specialists, laborers and sub-contractors. Takes responsibility for all actions on a job site including safety.
• 5%: Safety Management: Inspects, maintains and donns personal protective equipment. Ensures peers and subcontractors are protected and has the responsibility and authority to stop work deemed unsafe. Equipment inspection, maintenance and operation. Inspects equipment before and after operation and documents deficiencies in accordance with DOT regulations and company policy. May be assigned responsibility for a single company vehicle which includes responsibilities for routine maintenance and cleaning.
• 5%: Mobile-device based administration and documentation: Utilizes mobile devices to plan, track and document job data including vehicle maintenance and operation, work order progress, personnel status and working hours. Responds to a variety of communication methods such as email, text messages, phone calls and application alerts in an appropriate time frame. Completes safety training and documentation on time.
• Working Hazards: Works in an environment with potential exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement dangers, confined spaces, vibrations, dangerous chemical/solvents, electrical shock, and inclement temperature extremes.
• Physical/Mental Exertion: Ability to perform heavy physical labor exerting up to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis and up to 50 pounds of force on a frequent basis performing such tasks as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and fingering.
What We're Looking For:
• Education: Requires a high school diploma.
• Experience: 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Experience with training and field supervision is required.
• Licenses/Certifications: HAZWOPER 40 certification and State-issued UST Inspector licenses required prior to hiring. CDL-B or A license with hazardous waste endorsement preferred. Manufacturer's certifications for Automated Tank Gauges, Submersible Turbine Pumps, Pressurized/Mechanical/Electronic line-leak detection preferred. Once hired, employees must maintain HAZWOPER40 and state-issued inspector's licenses.
• Technical Abilities: Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Able to perform manual labor, heavy equipment inspection and operation and basic administrative tasks using mobile devices.
• Autonomy/Direction: A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Trains and directs the activities of junior Technicians and is required to make quick decisions in the field without management assistance. Must have the ability to travel overnight over 50%. Must have the ability to be on-call 24-7 for emergency response on a rotational basis
