We are currently seeking a bilingual Rotating Equipment Specialist reporting directly to the Commissioning and Startup Deputy Operations Manager to join the team on-site based in Ensenada, Mexico.
About the Job
The Rotating Equipment Specialist reports to the site Deputy Commissioning & Startup Operations Manager. This position assignment will be based on-site in Ensenada, Mexico and is expected to last one (1) year with possibility for extension. This position will provide effective technical expertise, administration and coordination for construction activities associated with rotating mechanical equipment and machinery, to include: inspection, preservation, installation, alignment, hookup, lubrication, lube oil flushing and commissioning in accordance with specifications and drawings and for performing related duties.

Your main missions and responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following :
- Forecast, plan, schedule and coordinate the execution of work.
- Plan sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction subcontractors and workers.
- Ensure activities are executed in conformance with safety standards, project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, procedures, and quality requirements.
- Determine, in conjunction with Construction Manager(s), the requirements for information, materials, manpower, construction equipment and tools.
- Oversee subcontractor supervision and workforce to insure safety, productivity and quality.
- Ensure that all work is properly inspected in accordance with project requirements.
- Promote and enforce all safety programs and work rules.
- Provide input for the development of project schedules in cooperation with the construction engineers and planners.
- Ensure that daily and weekly short-range planning is maintained down to the foreman level.
- Ensure all scope changes are properly documented and that change orders are approved prior to the performance of work.
- Maintain close liaison and cooperation with assigned subcontractor(s) performing work.
- Provide technical assistance, interpretation of drawings, and recommendation of construction methods and construction equipment required.
- Safeguard all property placed in your custody.
- Knowledge of and working familiarity with industry codes including API RP 686 - Machinery Installation, and API standards covering Compressors, Steam Turbines, Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers, Centrifugal Pumps, Centrifugal Fans, Motors and Lubrication Systems.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years' experience with rotating equipment on LNG projects
- Bilingual ability to communicate in English and Spanish

- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear and effective information exchange among stakeholders.
- Negotiation Skills: Proficient in conducting negotiations related to punch list closure, mechanical completion (MC), and readiness for start-up (RFSU)
- Organizational Skills: Well-organized and structured, with a systematic approach to work, ensuring adherence to established rules and procedures.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to changing project requirements and environments, demonstrating resilience in the face of challenges.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and thoroughness, ensuring that all aspects of the project are completed to high standards and that no critical details are overlooked.
