Job Description

The business area "Technology and Project Delivery" drives value creation through optimising project delivery, procurement, operational excellence and leveraging IT & digitalisation. The business area is also responsible for ensuring a workplace without injury or harm.

We are currently looking to recruit an office based Senior Project Manager Construction for Onshore Wind to strengthen the business area's Project Delivery Unit. The team is responsible for the project execution of large-scale infrastructure renewable projects of onshore wind, both greenfield and repowering, in Germany. You will report to the Delivery Director for Germany.

As a Project Manager your main responsibilities will be:
  • Managing several construction projects in a portfolio at various stages of construction to include organising, leading and ensuring effective management and administration of the Project,
  • Coordination of project team including external consultants, contractors and service providers.
  • Ensuring continuous planning and follow up of cost, time and quality & reporting on projects status to senior management,
  • Implementing Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements and ensuring HSE compliance including Project Health & safety monitoring, reporting including managing planning & environmental permit conditions for the project.
  • Ensuring internal communication, cooperation and coordination between the different staff members of the Project and with other parties with interface to the Project (Region, Country and Corporate),
  • Ensuring efficient and regular project meetings and recording of minutes and agreed actions. This includes (but is not limited to) general internal project reporting, tracking of project spend & progress, tracking of project payments & variations and various project management documentation compilation and maintenance,
  • Having a good overview of electrical and civil infrastructure and managing interface between civil, electrical BOP (Balance of Plant) and wind turbines,
  • Managing claims

Qualifications
  • University degree in engineering or natural sciences with documented extensive experience,
  • Work experience in managing renewable energy development projects/large scale infrastructure projects in particular the construction processes and environmental assessments of wind, solar, battery & other renewable energy projects,
  • Demonstrated experience of managing project budgets and schedules from early stage development to construction phase,
  • Demonstrated experience of managing claims,
  • Strong technical understanding of renewable energy technology with experience in negotiating and understanding supply contracts with complex technical appendices,
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to plan, organize and prioritise tasks independently,
  • Strong communication, relationship building and good management and organisational skills,
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English,
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel within Germany, usually for one to three days
