Role Overview
  • Coordinate and supervise all necessary activities during the Life of Project and FEED activities up to close out.
  • Accountable for all matters related to Structural engineering, ensuring fit for purpose design and adherence to the Statement Of Requirement.
  • Represent the technical authority for Structural disciplines within the company.
  • Prepare and suggest technical content for essential studies and ensure conformity with state of the art.
  • Supervise subcontracted studies and provide support to other packages with the assistance of Head Quarters specialists.
  • Ensure Structural design choices consider constructability, operability, and flexibility of facilities.
  • Propose recommendations on technical deviation requests and maintain updated documentation related to Structural disciplines.
  • Participate in studies required by third parties as needed.
  • Communicate and apply H3SE policies of the company and ensure engineering is developed accordingly.
  • Ensure correct implementation of company rules and specifications, project specifications, relevant international standards, and applicable regulations requirements.
  • Lead review of key deliverables from contractors.
  • Provide technical assistance for any required technical audits, such as HAZOP or PR.
  • Participate in coordination for Inspection and Tests Plans (ITP) and FAT preparation and execution, attending meetings/FATs with vendors when necessary.
  • Provide support and search for vendor assistance if needed.
  • Ensure quality and completeness of Structures designs/packages final documentation in compliance with Project Scope of Work, Specifications, and Procedures for a smooth hand-over to operations.
  • Report potential impact on overall project strategy, planning, and target achievement.
  • Promote workshops with HQ specialists and/or contractor specialists to ensure company concepts and comments are well understood and integrated into technical documents.
  • Guide contractor main design selection in a Fit-for-Purpose approach to reach an optimized design, promoting and following deviation requests to company requirements as needed.
  • Ensure efficient review process to maintain compliance with applicable frame of reference.
  • Actively participate in proper interface management with other disciplines such as Process, Safety, Rotating, Electrical, etc.
  • Review and comment on key technical documents from interfacing disciplines.
  • Participate in Project HAZID and PR activities.
  • Organize weekly meetings with counterpart discipline and report highlights to management with proposed mitigation measures when necessary.
  • Participate in internal engineering weekly meetings.
  • Provide technical inputs for any contractual discussions with contractors.
  • Contribute to development of digital plant through centric data management when applicable.
  • Call for/participate in interface coordination activities and ensure synergies are developed between different contractors.
  • Participate in vendor evaluations and technical evaluations for LLIs.
  • Gain knowledge of Nigerian norms and practices and apply it to project when relevant.
  • Assist commissioning, start up, and operation teams as needed, transferring project knowledge to operations.
  • Prepare REX and Lessons Learnt throughout FEED process.
  • Contribute to personnel skills improvement and encourage knowledge transfer.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Chartered Structural Engineer or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas Industry or Construction field
  • Expertise in Civil Engineering and Offshore Structural Engineering.
  • Optional requirement: Structural Engineering, Fit For Purpose Design, Constructability, Operability, Flexibility, Technical Deviation Requests, H3SE Policies, Compliance With Regulations And Standards, Review Of Key Deliverables, Interface Management, Digital Plant Development, Vendor Evaluation.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Chartered Structural Engineer or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas Industry or Construction field preferred.
