Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Offshore Pedestal Crane Operator to safely operate and maintain cranes aboard offshore construction vessels. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, proactive equipment maintenance, and coordination with vessel crews to ensure smooth lifting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate pedestal cranes within safe load limits, considering weather and sea conditions.
- Perform basket transfers where safe and permitted.
- Ensure compliance with Offshore Crane Operator certification (Level 2 for inboard lifts, Level 3 for offshore lifts).
- Monitor crane limits and avoid clashes with vessel equipment or other cranes.
- Operate articulated and knuckle boom cranes, as well as active/passive heave compensation systems when applicable.
- Conduct daily crane inspections, routine maintenance, and maintain a clean operator cabin.
- Report any malfunctions and coordinate with engineering teams for maintenance.
- Maintain accurate crane log records for lifts exceeding 50 tons.
- Follow all safety procedures and halt operations if safety risks arise.
Requirements:
- Valid Offshore Crane Operator certification.
- Experience in offshore lifting operations.
- Strong safety awareness and teamwork skills.
