SUMMARY
Responsible for executing the Nuclear Oversight audit program required to comply with site licenses and other external requirements, developing an audit program plan, and managing lead auditors in execution of audits and assessments.

EDUCATION
• Bachelor's degree in science or engineering (Required)

EXPERIENCE
• 8 Years Nuclear Oversight experience in a commercial nuclear plant (Required)
• 3 of the 8 years must be in a supervisor or manager position. (Required)

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
• SRO Management Certification (Preferred)
• SRO License (Preferred)
• RO License (Preferred)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
NUCLEAR OVERSIGHT MANAGEMENT:
• Implements the stations 10 CFR 50 Appendix B compliance program.
• Carries out independent workplace inspections and compiles quarterly audit information.
• Provides the senior leadership team with independent audit and assessment capability that will be used to identify organizational vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement.
• Trains and develops full-time auditors and audit team leaders. Secures technical resources and external auditors to support audit teams.
• Acts as liaison with nuclear utilities and industry experts to ensure up to date on industry and best practices both in the assessment field and performs other benchmarking/researching. Takes corrective actions for areas needing improvements.
• Directs administrative operations and activities to ensure that work is performed to standard of operational safety, reliability and efficiency and in accordance with the site license, technical specifications, standards, and other regulatory requirements.
• Assumes responsibility for activities that may impact legal liabilities; have the potential for adverse impacts on health, safety, and the environment; and are of a nature that failure to provide could have an adverse effect on site operations.
• Oversee department's CAP program. Establish timeline to close open items.

PROCESS AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT:
Evaluates plant and industry operational experience and makes decisions and judgments about operational programs and activities, facilities, people, and equipment that results in increased productivity and effectiveness.
• Plans and schedules operations to support organization's current and future goals (plans work, assigns tasks, develops goals) and follows through to ensure completion.
• Ensures performance of timely and thorough evaluations of plant and industry operational experience, providing information on these items to appropriate departments covering (potential) problem identification and recommended corrective actions.
• Negotiates and coordinates with other organizations to achieve company's goals and ensure the performance improvement core processes are being effectively implemented.
• Provides technical assistance and support for apparent cause evaluations, root cause analysis, and event reviews.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
• Ensures development plans are in place and followed.
• Performs personnel activities for direct reports (promotions, salary changes, counseling, performance appraisals).
• Prepares and delivers oral and written communications relating to work group and station activities (e.g., reports, presentations, department meetings).
• Monitors work group reports and recommendations to assure evaluations, assessments and support are effectively developed and communicated.
• Develops and maintains appropriate technical expertise within the work group to ensure adequate talent to perform meaningful assessments and program oversight.
• Represents department/company on internal work teams and committees and with external entities.
• Maintains composure in high stress or adverse situations.
• Understands and implements company policies.
• Provides employees with tools and training necessary for them to perform their assignments.

FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Maintains fiscal records and procedures of the department to ensure the effective and efficient operations.
• Understands and manages to financial and budget targets. Incorporates financial analysis into strategic decisions.
• Proactively monitors and interprets ongoing financial performance and responds strategically.
• Incorporates financial analysis into strategic decisions and takes accountability for financial decisions within area.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accept ERO position as needed.
• Accept outage position as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
• Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.

WORKING CONDITIONS
• Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
• Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
• Travel may be required.
• May be required to carry phone.

ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Environmental and physical requirements are subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up to 30 lbs; ascending/descending stairs; sitting for extended periods of time; and spending considerable time in front of computer monitors.

WORK LOCATION
• Site - Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
