Who We're Hiring:

Woodfin-Your Home Team is seeking a skilled Generator Maintenance Technician to maintain, repair and install both mechanical and electrical components of air-cooled and liquid-cooled generator sets and/or related equipment. The Generator Maintenance Technician will be responsible for completing daily tasks as a mobile service technician in a positive, face-paced, supportive atmosphere.

What You'll Do:

• Inspect, repair, and perform preventative maintenance and service to standby generator systems up 150KW.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair automatic transfer switches and controls.
• Perform complete start-ups on new equipment with load testing.
• Perform warranty work and utilize the manufacturer's technical support team as needed.
• Provide accurate documentation for all services performed.
• Maintain accurate parts inventory in the service truck and the warehouse.
• Work a rotating on-call service schedule.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Trade school experience is preferred, but not required.
• Certifications in power generation or the electrical field are preferred, but not required.
• Possess common tools used for automotive and electrical type work.
• Strong understanding of combustible engine operations and any associated preventative maintenance tasks.
• Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems and circuitry within a complete standby generator system.
• Ability to perform accurate failure analysis and troubleshooting using diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Strong customer service skills with attention to detail in both written and digital formats.
• Self-motivated professional with excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Fluent English written and verbal skills are required
• Driving Requirements
  • Must have a valid Virginia driver's license.
  • Must have positive points on state driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
  • Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
  • All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.
• Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
