Wood are currently recruiting for a Marine Control Room Operator (MCRO) for a core position on the Equinor Mariner B FSU working on a 2 weeks on, 3 weeks off rota.
The Marine Control Room Operator reports to the OM Supervisor and will assist in all marine aspects relating to the operation of the FSU. Responsible to monitor, control and operate the marine and cargo operations efficiently, ensuring all procedures are adhered to. Ensure to display a pro-active and continuous approach to safety.
The role will be involved in all day-to-day marine operations to ensure safe and effective operation while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Control, Monitor, receive, store and discharge crude oil cargo and slops, COW, operation of inert gas systems, maintaining stability of FSU and monitoring of FSU safety and control systems complying with all the working and reporting procedures and relevant standards
- Ensure the management and quality of the Cargo
- Operate the ballast system including the operation of ballast valves and pumps, including routine and emergency ballasting/de-ballasting
- Be fully conversant with the unit's stability manual with emphasis on stability and methods of recovery from damage conditions
- The focal point for marine activities when on night-shift, assisting vendors where applicable
- Operation of a variety of marine systems throughout the FSU such as variable frequency drive cargo systems, bilge and ballast systems, Pot water and sewage systems
- Complete / record marine planned maintenance activities and update Maintenance Management System (SAP)
- Responsible for the safe and cost effective operation and maintenance of the Facility's marine systems with minimal environmental impact in accordance with legislation, class, flag, and the integrated facility management system
- Partake in all aspects of the cargo oil offtake operations - cargo transfer, metering, mooring / unmooring co-ordination and documentation
- Ensure the correct and accurate completion of Marine Department Data and reports, including: marine logs, vessel movements, weather reports and hull tank contents, Oil content record books and Garbage record books. Stability record keeping
- Monitoring of pigging operations between the platform and FSU,
- Operation of the vessels oily water separator
- Key involvement in all logistical tasks onboard the asset; Cargo Tanker operations, Supply Vessel operations and organisation of dangerous goods
- Responsible for Vessel Stability (Ballasting and Cargo Loading Management)
- Responsible for the execution of assurance activities in relation to the Written Scheme of Examination
- Responsible for the execution of assurance activities in relation to Class certification
- Maintain complete and accurate records within the Maintenance Management System (SAP)
- Ensure that the required level of reporting and record keeping is maintained
- Adopt, and promote Equinors safety culture, behaviours and values
- Promote a high level of HSE awareness and proactiveness
- Compliance with all Company management standards and procedure requirements and support all safety/environmental initiatives
- Ensure appropriate Risk Assessments are carried out for all activities, with particular attention to recognising the impact of change
- Ensure that all operational procedures are being correctly applied and adequately monitored
- Carry out emergency response duties where necessary
- Carrying out first line maintenance on the various marine systems
- Monitoring of bilge & void spaces, de-watering as and when required
- Monitoring mooring system, taking appropriate action as and when directed
- Monitor Aero nautical communications
- Ensure weather monitoring station is fully operational, including Helicopter weather reports
- Any other duties as defined by the OIM and OM Supervisor
- Participate in audit, technical and incident investigations as required
- Ensure learning opportunities are captured and realised

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
- Relevant mariner qualifications/HNC/NVQ or equivalent experience
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a marine operations or closely related professional experience within the oil and gas industry.
- Control room experience (preferably marine)
- Practical knowledge of systems plant and equipment relevant to the industry sector in own discipline area
- Experienced technician practice within an offshore environment.
- Good working knowledge of marine engine systems
- Experience of CMMS systems (SAP preferred)
