Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide accounting, reporting, and consolidation expertise. Each day, you will support in accounting, tax and reporting matters to business/reporting units through resolution of accounting and reporting questions, financial statement preparation and review follow-up on accounting issues. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting the preparation of financial reports in compliance with internal guidelines, procedures, and external regulatory requirements. This role is contributing to the Finance Operational Service based in Istanbul, Turkiye. Contributing to the definition, implementation, and improvement of accounting policies relevant to your area and level of expertise, Executing established accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with ABB group policies and local instructions, Performing quality checks on financial reporting data submitted by the units, including analytical review of major fluctuations, and liaising with internal and external auditors on accounting and reporting issues, Conducting investigations and reconciliation of accounting transaction, as necessary, and facilitating the resolution of accounting and reporting issues, Monthly Trial Balance reviews, VAT Return File Documentation and Submission, Supporting tax and accounting leaders on daily operations, Monthly Tax Declaration calculation support, Collecting all hard copy documents related with VAT process, Support audit process.

Qualifications for the role

• 5-9 years of experience in Accounting (R2R), GL, and SAP, preferably in shared services or the manufacturing sector, with strong knowledge of Turkish GAAP, tax regulations, and VAT return processes,
• Expertise in Fixed Asset accounting, end-to-end process ownership, and deep-dive analysis in SAP and Excel to resolve complex transactions,
• Advanced proficiency in SAP, CFIN, and MS Office (especially Excel), with adaptability to rapid organizational and technological changes,
• CPA internship and license / Audit background is preferred with a Bachelor's or MBA in Accounting, Finance, or Tax,
• Attention to detail, ability to work independently in a matrix organization, and a result-oriented mindset,
• Strong communication skills in Turkish and English.
