Senior Financial Accountant - London

On behalf of a major trading client, WRS are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to be based in London on a permanent staff basis (hybrid set-up).

Job Duties:

• Month-End Management: Perform balance sheet reconciliations, analyze profit and loss (PnL) statements, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Financial Accounts Preparation: Prepare and present IFRS-compliant financial accounts while meeting local regulatory requirements.
• Audit Management: Lead internal and external audit processes, ensuring full compliance and accuracy.
• Invoicing & Cash Flow: Oversee invoicing processes to maintain efficient cash flow and collections.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit Corporation Tax and VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
• Transfer Pricing: Manage transfer pricing documentation and reporting in line with UK tax laws.

Candidate Requirements:

• Must have right to work in the UK
• Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA (essential).
• Industry Expertise: Demonstrated experience working in the commodity trading sector, preferably with Oil Majors or Commodity Trading Firms, and a solid understanding of the financial operations in the LNG trading business.
• IFRS Knowledge: Strong understanding of IAS 2, IFRS 9, and IFRS 16.
• ETRM Systems: Experience with Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems, preferably EOS.
• Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in VBA, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and SUMIFS for financial analysis.
• Tax Compliance Experience: Hands-on experience with UK Corporation Tax, VAT, and Transfer Pricing.
• Audit & Reporting: A keen eye for detail in financial reporting, auditing, and compliance.
