Responsibilities
Senior Financing Specialist (Energy Project Finance) (SG Americas Securities, LLC, New York, NY)

Assist in the execution and the origination of both advisory and arranging activities in the Energy and Project Finance sector (including oil & gas, petrochemicals and power, including renewables). Provide essential support to deal team leader(s) in the execution and origination of both advisory and financing mandates. Prepare client pitches and coordinate pitch presentations. Assist in the execution of advisory mandates including: preparation of comprehensive financing strategy; analysis of financing alternatives/solutions and risks; optimization of financing structures; preparation of reports, position papers and client presentations; review of financial models; preparation of financial plans for bid submissions; review and comment on relevant commercial and financing agreements; negotiations of loan documentation and other agreements with clients, potential financiers, and public sector investors; coordination of project closings; and guide junior staff. Preparation of term sheets and review of project documentation; identification of opportunities to improve the banks profitability from transactions; preparation and presentation of credit applications; liaising and coordinating with other departments involved in transactions; supervision of the closing process; and provision of ongoing support of the transaction post financial close. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Energy sector, as well as current market conditions and financing trends to identify opportunities in the market. Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) to maintain and build relationships with target clients. Requires up to 10% domestic travel to professional conferences, client and site visits. Partial telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report to SG Americas Securities, LLC, 245 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10167. Salary: $176,571 - $300,000 per year.
Profile required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent in Finance, Management, Financial Engineering, or related field plus 5 years of professional experience as a Financial Analyst, Investment Analyst, or any occupation/position/job title involving Lending and Financial Advisory Services in the Energy sector. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in Finance, Management, Financial Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of professional experience as a Financial Analyst, Investment Analyst, or any occupation/position/job title involving Lending and Financial Advisory Services in the Energy sector.

Must also have the following special skills: 3 years of professional experience in project financing with direct involvement in bid situations and financial closes; 3 years of professional experience developing financial models for project finance transactions; 3 years of professional experience performing financial modelling and engaging in quantitative and qualitative financial analysis, applying financial accounting concepts, and reviewing and analyzing financial statements, cashflows and finance valuation; 3 years of professional experience preparing credit applications for new and existing clients (including annual reviews, credit memos and pre-screening memos) and monitoring credit requests through the approval process; and 3 years of professional experience assisting in the assessment and structuring of new deals, evaluating proposals against established risk and business line criteria, and preparing new deal submissions.

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
