Function description

The SPJUB Master oversees the operation and safety of the vessel and its crew, ensuring smooth project execution and regulatory compliance. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards, effective communication, and operational efficiency.

1. Notify the office of vessel movements, readiness, and status updates.
2. Oversee maintenance, repairs, and safe operations of the vessel.
3. Ensure proper storage, transfer, and management of cargo, fuel, and supplies.
4. Conduct and supervise drills, safety meetings, and job safety analyses.
5. Enforce compliance with safety protocols, including use of protective gear.
6. Maintain and ensure functionality of safety equipment and life-saving appliances.
7. Supervise the Permit to Work (PTW) system, incident reporting, and SMS compliance.

Requirements

1. Demonstrated experience as a Master on Self-Propelled Jack-Up Barges or similar vessels.
2. Valid Marine Crew Certification (STCW 95) and compliance with maritime regulations.
3. Strong leadership and operational management skills.
4. Comprehensive understanding of safety equipment uses and maintenance.
5. Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including rope-swinging requirements.
6. Knowledge of national and international labor laws and marine regulations.
7. Effective communication skills for coordination with crews and office personnel.
