Power Generation Supervisor

We are looking for a motivated leader to join our factory in Drayton, ND as the Power Generation Supervisor. The purpose of this position is to direct and coordinate the power generation activities while meeting or exceeding safety goals, environmental regulations, and performance goals. This position provides leadership and guidance that ensures staff, equipment and work processes are in place to enable safe and effective performance and compliance with environmental and company regulations.
The principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
To be successful in this position requires complete knowledge of coal fired boiler operations, steam turbine operations, electrostatic precipitator operations, and all other operations required in the generation of steam and electrical power normally gained through the completion of a 4-year engineering/technical degree or 5 or more years of related work experience in an industrial/ manufacturing environment. A State of Minnesota, High Pressure Boiler Division, Chief A Engineer License or equivalent experience is required. Effective communication and supervisory skills are required; previous supervisor experience is preferred.
Compensation Range:
$108,648.21 - $135,810.26 Annual Salary

The principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

- Provides expertise on the operating capabilities and characteristics of power generating equipment, including coal and gas fired boilers and turbine generators.
- Supervises the Boiler Technicians and the operation and maintenance during both campaign and inter-campaign periods.
- Establishes expectations and ensures employees and equipment meet high standards for work, safety, environment, housekeeping, cost efficiency and quality.
- Addresses any work rule violations or individual employee performance issues.
- Authorizes power generating procedures and practices to maximize safety and efficiency.
- Manages the training and development of the power generating area and the Boiler Tech Program to ensure current staffing meets Company needs and establishes a succession planning process to ensure future staffing needs are met.
- Develops power generating budget for approval by Maintenance Superintendent/Factory Manager/Corporate Operations. Ensures power generation area operates within established budget.
- Develops the plan and schedules maintenance for the pressure relief systems throughout the entire facility and ensures compliance of code vessels. Requires working closely with the Code Compliance Engineer in ensuring compliance.
- Schedules the power generation maintenance and preventive maintenance activities. Provides direction and review of maintenance to ensure work is performed correctly and efficiently.
- Manages boilers and power generation equipment to ensure all pollution control and monitoring equipment operates within permit limits.
- Manages and coordinates the coal delivery and stockpile with Corporate Purchasing to ensure factory supply meets projected needs.
