Your role and responsibilities
This position of Segment Manager will report to the Local Business Line Leader for Robotics Indus-tries. This role is a member of the Robotics Industries Management Team and is responsible for the overall direction and performance of the segment. The business plan and strategy will be aligned with local and global business line leadership and this position will lead the applications engineering and proposal engineering activities for the assigned segment. Aligned with the Global and Local Strategy, this position will develop and own local business strategy for the US segment. The work model for the role is: #LI - Hybrid This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation Robotics division in the U.S., ensuring that we are aligned with the Global Robotics strategy. Main stakeholders are both our internal and external customers. You will be mainly accountable for: • Business execution plan. Uses knowledge and knowhow about the market in the US region to succeed in the market. • Manages the budget preparation for approval. Coordinates economic planning to ensure budgetary compliance and efficiency in the use of resources required for the achievement of the objectives. • Leads an efficient daily operation and performance of segment proposal and application engineering to ensure accurate and winning proposals to customers. Uses product knowledge and manages team to appropriate risk and liabilities in line with acceptable business risk and ABB guidelines • Maintains, develops, and expands segment customer base and leverages capability to new customers and partners • Is responsible for advising and supporting business development, based on regional specific needs and competitive landscape, for the development of new products and applications, adaptation of existing products or applications to regional requirements, and commercial strategies

Qualifications for the role
- Bachelors degree or equivalent plus training in leadership and management
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience in similar management positions in B2B Industrial Companies. Or US Market experience as manager in an Integrator company in an international business environment
- Experience in a highly matrixed organization and in coordinating with and working across geographies and different business levels.
- Action-oriented and results-driven.
- Possess strong leadership and team working skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of
- management.
- Native English or professional proficiency, excellent spoken and written editorial skills.
- Intercultural sensitivity and experienced in cross-functional, international collaboration and building strong personal networks
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
