GRAND OPENING JULY 2025!

The Nisqually Indian Tribe is developing a Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) facility on Pacific Ave in Olympia, Washington to address the opioid crisis within the Thurston County area. The Nisqually Indian Tribe is passionate about developing a whole person recovery model, keeping all services under one roof so the patient has the best possible chance of recovery. Our goal is to bring healing and wellness to the community, focusing on the entire family by serving tribal and non-tribal patients.

Jobs are projected to start late May - early June 2025.

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Security Guard maintains security of the premises and all personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, and controlling entry.

This position ensures confidentiality, security, and accuracy of records, and promotes positive employee, customer, and community relations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required and outstanding customer service to fellow employees, customers, vendors, etc. is expected. Regular attendance is required, later hours or weekend time may be required, and a neat well-groomed professional appearance is essential.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides safety and security services which include patrolling grounds, parking lots, buildings, securing entryways and exits, monitoring electronic surveillance systems etc. to effectively address potential security issues, loitering, and violations of policy.
  • Responds to all alarms and calls 911 for specific services (police, ambulance, or fire) as the situation requires.
  • Respond immediately to all calls from staff.
  • Interacts with local law enforcement officers when needed; provides information and clarification of events.
  • Assists the Security Manager in coordinating emergency protocols. In the absence of the Security Manager, provides direct assistance to the facility Director to coordinate emergency procedures.
  • Checks for property damage and inspect equipment for safety issues.
  • Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized people, or unusual occurrences.
  • Aids staff, medical personnel, and clients as needed.
  • Monitors electronic checkpoints.
  • Activates and deactivates alarm systems.
  • Provides escort services for the protection of caregivers or patients.
  • Provide courtesy services such as providing directions.
  • Provides non-violent physical crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to neutralize extreme situations and mitigate negative outcomes.
  • Provide crowd control in the event of an influx of patients and/or visitors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • One year of experience as a security guard or relevant position i.e. military experience.
  • Current CPR qualified or complete First Aid and CPR certification within the first 60 days.
  • Must be in good physical condition to respond to potential security and safety concerns. A significant portion of the workday is standing or walking.
  • Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets the minimum requirements established by Nisqually Indian Tribes vehicle insurance provider.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • The ability to work with vulnerable populations including adults and children.
  • Must pass a State and National (FBI) criminal history background check prior to employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of the Nisqually Indian Tribe's history, customs, traditions, and ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
  • Experience working with Federally Recognized Tribes.

SUPERVISION

This position does not supervise others.
