Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for a Team Lead for Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical (IC&E). This position is deemed a full-time support role, reporting to the Manager, Engineering, Technical Services. The Team Lead will be an integral part of the Discipline Engineering Management Team with accountability for managing instrumentation, controls, and electrical engineering resources (including contractors) to support safe and efficient design, construction and operation of the facilities and pipelines. The individual will lead a team of engineers, technologists, and technicians that will be expected to work with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external.

Responsibilities:
  • Day to day administration and career management for IC&E team members
  • Develop and manage team goals based on corporate goals and initiatives
  • Administrative: timesheet, vacation, expense, training management
  • Work with direct reports on career advancement, development and performance.
  • Manage the execution of IC&E work within the team.
  • Manage, prioritize, distribute and report workload of IC&E team.
  • Report team workload, engage with Discipline Engineering Manager and stakeholders on prioritization and resourcing.
  • Understand corporate and business drivers in relation to day-to-day work, seek to understand the big picture and how our work supports it.
  • Review and sign off engineering designs, calculations, specifications/deviations and reports prepared by team members.
  • Complete IC&E work as needed - specification development, review, and deviation, design development, professional authentication, etc.
  • Engage in plant operation support and troubleshooting - work with asset engineering and operations on plant performance issues. Provide experienced feedback.
  • Drawing review and feedback.
  • Stamp and take responsibility for work executed by EIT's.
  • Support development and management of the Discipline Engineering Team budget.
  • Support incident investigations with SME and leadership.

Qualifications:
  • Provide proof of registration with APEGA with membership in good standing
  • You are passionate about working as part of a team to solve problems and implement innovative, cost effective, and high-quality solutions.
  • You combine the theoretical with the hands on in this role. You are a courageous safety leader who works to ensure your work, your team's work and the facilities are safe, but you also recognize that safety goes beyond the facility and into your home.
  • You are open to immersing yourself in all areas of Project Engineering & Management. You know that a multi-disciplined group is part of the success in this role.
  • You have the ability to listen, learn and observe - getting to know the people, processes, and facilities is the best way to start a new role.
  • You are comfortable with technical writing, presentation skills and knowledge transfer to various stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license.
