Power Systems Electrical Engineer
Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc.
Power Systems Electrical Engineer
The Opportunity:
As an electrical engineer, you understand the workings behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to overseeing and analyzing electrical distribution systems on military installations. We're looking for an electrical engineer who can use their skills to transform how the Department of Defense (DoD) views energy resiliency and how energy projects are completed with traditional military construction.
At Booz Allen, you'll use your engineering skills to transform the services' installation energy portfolio. Our team is responsible for delivering energy resilience solutions, including carbon-free technology, to help the military move towards energy independence for its installations. That's why we need you, an electrical engineer with power systems experience and a background in transmission and distribution systems, distributed energy resources interconnection, and substation design to oversee the development of a new program using the tools necessary to conduct reliability analyses on those systems.
On our team, you'll use your technical knowledge to model those systems and your experience with site visits and mission owner interviews. You'll gather information for any potential resilience gaps in the system. You'll directly impact the area of installation energy, which is energy used by facilities and their supporting infrastructure. We'll look to you to share your electrical engineering expertise through leadership and mentoring junior staff. This is a chance to use your experience-based knowledge in power systems and rotating machines while broadening your skill set into areas like renewable energy systems and microgrid design. Take on exciting challenges in the DoD with us as we support the military in achieving its energy resilience goals by delivering state-of-the-art energy solutions.
