GreenSpark Solar is seeking a Residential Solar Project Coordinator Intern to join our team for a twelve-week summer internship program starting May 19, 2025. Under the direction of the Director of Residential Operations, this intern will support impactful projects that align with GreenSpark's mission to expand clean energy solutions. This role will involve assisting in the management of residential solar projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget, and customer satisfaction. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of a residential solar project, from site assessment to final inspection, while contributing to the company's success. The internship is based in Rochester, NY.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Support: Assist the residential solar project management team throughout the project lifecycle, including site assessments, design coordination, permitting, installation tracking, and inspections.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Support project scheduling activities under the direction of project managers.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Aid in the preparation and submission of residential solar project documentation, such as Customer Design Approval, NYSERDA grants, structural certifications, local permits, inspections, and owner's manuals; monitor relevant portals.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders-including sales, engineering, construction, and regulatory agencies-providing administrative and logistical support.
  • Project Tracking: Ensure accurate and timely project documentation by assisting with data entry and tracking in company software systems such as Salesforce, Accumatica, Google Drive, and Fulcrum.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend weekly department meetings and monthly All Company meetings to stay aligned with business goals.
  • Professional Development: Participate in internship activities and professional development opportunities to increase knowledge of the company and the solar industry.
  • Networking: Engage with team members and participate in company events to expand your professional network.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications:
  • Current enrollment in or recent completion of coursework in engineering, construction management, sustainability, renewable energy, or related fields required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills and a proactive approach to task management.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work independently.
  • Interest or experience in renewable energy, solar, or sustainability is a plus.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn local building codes, regulations, and permitting requirements is preferred.
  • Experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office, Fulcrum, Salesforce or other project management software preferred.

Internship Program Details:
  • Program Duration: 12 weeks, starting May 19, 2025.
  • Work Schedule: A typical workday is about 8 hours, primarily based at GreenSpark Headquarters. There may be occasional opportunities for remote work, depending on project needs and supervisor approval. Job site visits may also be part of the internship.
  • Transportation & Lodging: Interns are responsible for their transportation to and from work and lodging. If transportation is a barrier, please reach out to discuss possible accommodations.
